Paris by Day

Today was a wonderful day. The weather this morning was beautiful and sunny, which unfortunately did not last long, but the rain held off all day. We started the morning learning how to navigate the RER (the surburban train system) and the métro. Then we headed off to Notre Dame to discover its Gothic beauty. The girls then had free time to explore the Quartier Latin and eat our delicious French lunches with the pigeons on the parvis de Notre Dame.
After a scenic boat ride down the Seine River, we made our way to the Dame de Fer, as the French lovingly call their signature monument the Eiffel Tower.
We are all looking foward to visiting classes at Daniélou tomorrow.

Le Weekend!

Yesterday was very busy at Danéilou school. There was a fair that was put on by the parents of the sixth and seventh graders. To start the festivities, all of the sixth graders in the schoool did a dance out on the main field. Turns out that in their sixth grade class is as many girls as our entire school! They did a wonderful job. There was also a gymnastics exposition and lots of food stands and shop vendors.
Today is Mother's Day in France, so I am sure that many girls will be out celebrating with their families. Everyone seems to be having a fantastic time. The host families have been wonderful and everyone agrees, the food is fantastic!

We have Arrived!

We have arrived to France safe and sound after a long delay at Dullas Airport due to thunderstorms. We were met at the airport by the parents who took us straight to Danielou. The Foxcroft girls met their corrèses and went to their new homes for the next two weeks. Eventhough they were tired, the Foxcroft girls were all smiles on their way out.
Merci!
